Tractor Driving/Tractor Driving on Slopes/Front End Loader/Tractor Maintenance

We provide a range of Lantra Awards tractor-driving courses, from 1-day refresher courses for experienced drivers to 5-day comprehensive courses for novices. The courses are suitable for drivers in agricultural and other industries and provide both training and assessment, so that by the end of the course you know whether you have reached the Lantra Awards standard. If you are successful, you will be awarded not only a Certificate of Basic Training, but also a nationally recognised Skills ID Card.

We can also provide non-assessed courses and participants on these courses receive Lantra Awards Certificates of Attendance.

  • Essential procedures for safe tractor driving
  • Relevant regulations
  • How to manoeuvre with different attachments
  • How to use your tractor safely on slopes
  • How to adjust, service and repair the machine

Lift Trucks – Industrial Counterbalanced/Rough Terrain Masted/Telescopic Handler

We provide a range of Lantra Awards Fork Lift training courses, from 1-day refresher courses for experienced drivers to 5-day comprehensive courses for novices. The courses are suitable for drivers in agricultural and other industries and provide both training and assessment, so that by the end of the course you know whether you have reached the Lantra Awards standard. If you are successful, you will be awarded not only a Certificate of Basic Training, but also a nationally recognised Skills ID Card.

We can also provide non-assessed courses and participants on these courses receive Lantra Awards Certificates of Attendance.

Objectives:

  • Identify the basic construction and components and the purpose and use of all controls and gauges
  • Identify and comply with manufacturers instructions in accordance with the operator's handbook and other information sources
  • Explain all relevant documentation
  • Carry out all pre-use and running checks
  • Configure the vehicle for site (and road) travel
  • Manoeuvre in confined areas using forward and reverse direction, both with and without a load
  • Travel over different types of terrain, both with and without a load
  • Lift and place various loads
  • Ensure load integrity and security
  • Transport loads
  • Place and retrieve loads accurately at various places
  • Place and retrieve loads from a vehicle bed or trailer
  • Keep within safe working parameters
  • Place the machine in an out of service condition
  • Explain the loading and unloading procedure on and off a transporter

All Terrain Vehicles – Sit Astride ATV incl. Loads and Trailed equipment/Sit In ATV/Sit In Conventional Steered

These courses are suitable for anyone who uses or will be using an all terrain vehicle, including novices and experienced operators. The courses range from 1 day for experienced operators to 3 days for novices and provide both training and assessment, so that by the end of the course you know whether you have reached the Lantra Awards standard. If you are successful, you will be awarded not only a Certificate of Basic Training, but also a nationally recognised Skills ID Card.

We can also provide non-assessed courses and participants on these courses receive Lantra Awards Certificates of Attendance.

Objectives:

  • Compliance with legal requirements, with an emphasis on Safe Practice
  • Identify the risks associated with using an ATV
  • Select appropriate PPE
  • Identify the controls and components
  • Understand the function of all instruments
  • Carry out daily checks as indicated in the operator's manual
  • Carry out appropriate pre-start checks
  • Identify and report any faults
  • Start up and ride over a variety of terrain and ground conditions
  • Carry out an emergency stop without locking the wheels
  • Carry out a failed hill climb
  • Operate the ATV safely on appropriate slopes
  • Identify loading/towing capacities
  • Secure a suitable load and drive over appropriate terrain
  • Safely hitch a trailer or trailed implement and manoeuvre through a defined course
  • Perform after-use maintenance
  • Understand legal and practical requirements for travelling on the public road
