We offer a full range of groundcare training necessary for anyone working in arboriculture, horticulture, ground maintenance, golf clubs, race courses, amenity and landscaping businesses.
Formal recognised training is recommended by the HSE for everyone who uses groundcare equipment and it has been proven that correct use of machinery results in lower maintenance costs and increased efficiency.
Groundcare training is mainly practical and is carried out in small groups so that you can receive plenty of individual attention from the tutor, which is supplemented by excellent course materials.
We work closely with the Health and Safety Executive to ensure that our materials reflect current safe working practices.
All our trainers are approved by either NPTC (National Proficiency test Council) or LANTRA (Sector Skills Council for Environmental and Land Based Sector). They also all have considerable practical experience in all aspects of groundcare and arboriculture.
We offer a wide range of courses suitable for all types of mowers. Rotary /Flail/Cylinder, both Ride on and Pedestrian, to suit all your requirements.
All courses are Lantra integrated training and assessment programmes and at completion a skills card and Lantra certificate will be awarded. The certificate is then valid for 3 years. Training is usually conducted on site, however we are able to find appropriate alternative sites for training if required.

This is a Lantra integrated training and assessment course and at completion a skills card and Lantra certificate will be awarded.
The certificate is then valid for 3 years.
Training is usually conducted on site, however we are able to find appropriate sites and hire of a woodchipper for training if required.

The certificate is then valid for 3 years.
Training can be conducted on site for more than 3-6 trainees or, if you only have 1 or 2 trainees, open courses are arranged regularly.

- Identification of faults and defects which can be easily remedied
- Identification of faults that require specialist repair
- Correct use and identification of cutting head
- Correct mixing of fuel to enable hot or cold start of brush cutter in a safe manner
- Operate brush cutter safely for operator, public, property and consideration of environmental issues.

Course Content
- Production of a site specific risk assessment for stump grinding operation
- Understand HSE legislation and safety guidelines for stump grinders
- Use of correct PPE and understand maintenance requirements
- Operator checks and identification of safety features
- Carry out routine maintenance
- Inspection and identification of defects on grinding mechanism
- Preparation of machine prior to operation, start and stop the machine safely with safety checks
- Preparation of work area and practice on a range of stumps for grinding
- Identification of hazardous materials not to be ground
- Use of approved techniques for safe and efficient grinding of a range of stump sizes
- Understand and practice the procedure for removing blockages
- Re- instate ground and deal with arising
- Preparation of machine for transportation and storage
